BLS Certification in Maryland
Basic Life Support (BLS) is for medical professionals who need CPR certification for clinical or hospital work. This course teaches you how to respond to breathing or cardiac emergencies using team-based techniques, high-quality chest compressions, rescue breaths, and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Once you complete the training and skills check, you'll receive an AHA BLS certification valid for two years.
ACLS Certification in Maryland
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is a step up from basic CPR. This course is for experienced healthcare providers who respond to cardiac or respiratory emergencies. You’ll learn how to recognize heart problems early, manage airways, read heart rhythms, and use life-saving medications. You’ll also build leadership and teamwork skills for emergency response situations.
We combine online learning with a hands-on in-person session for maximum flexibility.
PALS Certification in Maryland
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training is for those who care for infants and children during emergencies. The course covers how to recognize signs of distress in young patients, manage breathing issues, stabilize airways, treat shock, and respond to cardiac arrest. PALS is ideal for pediatricians, ER nurses, paramedics, and school nurses. Upon completion, you’ll receive a two-year AHA certification.

Why Are AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) Important?
AEDs play a vital role in saving lives. Sudden cardiac arrest can happen without warning, and immediate defibrillation significantly increases the chances of survival. Keeping an AED close at hand can make all the difference in a life-threatening emergency.
What’s the Difference Between a Fully In-Person Class and a Skills Check via an AHA RQI Station?
Traditional American Heart Association (AHA) courses involve several hours of in-person instruction. In contrast, the Bayside RQI program allows participants to complete the online learning portion at their own pace, followed by a quick, self-guided skills check at one of our RQI stations. Regardless of the method you choose, you’ll receive the same official AHA certification.
